Do you want to spend the summer getting paid to hang out with some awesome young folks and play in the forest? Check out a really amazing project called Friends of Camp Little Notch that’s working toward the purchase of a camp! Right now we’re hiring for our first year of summer camp (Summer 2012), this year we’re focusing on girls programming. Part of the work we’re constantly doing is redefining what it means to be a female identified person in wilderness spaces. Queer/LGBT and Women of Color are strongly encouraged to apply.

Positions Available/Qualifications:
Social Consciousness Specialist
Must be 21 years of age or older. The social consciousness specialist develops and delivers workshops and activities that enable staff and campers to confront issues of social justice such as multi-culturalism, diversity, non-violent communication and community building, in a safe and supportive setting, and is available as a consultant to camp staff in developing unit activities or responding to the needs of the girls in the unit. Training and experience in facilitating social consciousness activities required. Lives in a platform tent and shares in unit supervision outside of program hours.
Nature and Ecology Specialist
Nature and Ecology Specialist
Must be 18 years of age or older. The nature/ecology specialist plans and delivers a quality program of nature exploration and responsible stewardship that actively engages campers and staff in a personal relationship with the natural world. The nature ecology specialist guides campers through the process of building and maintaining the camp’s weather station, and making daily reports of its findings, and is a primary force in our sustainability/ waste reduction efforts. The nature/ecology specialist works directly with camper groups and assists unit staff in developing nature/ecology-based elective activities. Experience/training in environmental education and a knack for inspired teaching required. Must be willing to get wet and dirty.
