I really enjoy your guys site and blog... But what does the term "boi" mean? And how did it come about?

HA! Way to ask the huge unanswerable questions of the universe. Boi has been around for a while. It’s skated between gay cismen, pretty boys, tomboys, southern young black men—it really is a word, like so many others, that lived (and still lives) many places. Bois in the boihood sense, is an umbrella term for AGs/studs/tomboys/butches…masculine-of-center or masculine presenting queer folks. (Read more about our mission + vision here.) We often ask each other and our folks, “what does it mean to be a boi?” and the answers are as unique and wonderful as the bois who answer them. Hope this helped…or confused you more :) <3, the bois
